What Is A Revival?
A revival is a series of meetings where the Word of God is preached by a visiting evangelist. Each meeting generally opens with prayer and preaching follows special singing or instrumentals. The meeting ends with an altar call. Altar call is an opportunity for souls to kneel and pray to God at an old-fashioned altar.
What Is The Purpose of Revival?
Revival has many purposes and benefits are realized by both the saved and unsaved. Revival serves to remind the saved of their purpose in winning souls to Christ and helps stir the heart-fire for a greater and closer walk with God. The Pastor, local congregation and visitors witness first-hand the beautiful doctrine of “unity” in the Church of God. In the Church of God, the visiting evangelist preaches and holds the same doctrine that was delivered to the Apostles by Jesus Christ and as taught by the local Pastor. Revival also strengthens our fellowship with our local congregations. Most importantly, revival offers an opportunity for the unsaved or backslider to obtain an experience of salvation.
