A Dios le importa cómo se ven las personas.
Una mirada orgullosa es una abominación a Dios.
Proverbs 6:16-17
(16) These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
(17) A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
La palabra "Mirada" significa apariencia externa. Una mirada orgullosa o apariencia externa proviene de un corazón orgulloso.
Proverbs 7:10-11
(10) And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.
(11) (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:
Esta mujer llevaba el atavío de una ramera porque tenía un corazón de ramera. Todos tenemos un propósito o una razón por la que nos adornamos en la manera que lo hacemos.
La mirada orgullosa se manifiesta en los gestos de una persona o en la forma en que él se comporta y en los artículos con los que él se adorna.
Isaiah 3:16-24
(16) Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:
(17) Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.

(19) The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
(20) The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
(21) The rings, and nose jewels,
(22) The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,
(23) The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.
(24) And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.
Esta era una profecía relativa a la dispensación del Nuevo Testamento.

"En aquel día" - en el día del evangelio Dios quitaría adornos como estos que mostraban orgullo.
Hay una norma de vestimenta bíblica.
1 Timothy 2:8-10
(8) I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
(9) In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
(10) But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
Modesto significa: "falta de orgullo y vanidad, decente, virtuoso, ordenado y bien dispuesto, no extremo".
Nuestro cabello nos ha sido dado para cubrirnos; por lo tanto, es parte de nuestro adorno exterior y debe ser modesto.
1 Corinthians 11:15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
La palabra griega para "cobertura" significa velo. El cabello de la mujer se le da para cubrirse o en lugar de un velo.
Llevar un velo es una costumbre creada por el hombre (versículo 16). El cabello de la mujer debe ser largo, tanto como Dios permita que crezca. No debe afeitarse ni raparse (versículo 6). Esquilado significa esquilado, cortado o recortado.
Los hombres deben cortarse el pelo y mantenerlo corto (versículo 14).
El pelo largo en los hombres es un signo de deshonra o rebelión. Las mujeres que se cortan el pelo son un signo de deshonra o rebelión.
El uso de joyas no es una vestimenta modesta.
1 Peter 3:3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
"No con peinados ostentosos, o trenzando de cabello", significa el cabello trenzado con numerosas baratijas y adornos (joyas).
1 Timothy 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
El uso de joyas no demuestra un carácter modesto.
El uso de "maquillaje" o de pintar la cara es contrario a la "vergüenza" o a la humildad (1 Timoteo 2:9) y es característico del orgullo y la vanidad.

Deuteronomy 22:5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.
La distinción en la vestimenta de hombres y mujeres ha sido un principio moral correcto en cualquier época.
La ropa modesta debe ser evidente en todo nuestro adorno.
La ropa debe ser decente, lo suficientemente larga y gruesa para cubrirse decentemente.
Matthew 23:25-26
(25) Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
(26) Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
Dios se preocupa por nuestra apariencia externa. Cuando una persona se salva y se limpia primero por dentro, el exterior o la apariencia externa naturalmente comenzará a conformarse con su corazón puro.
Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
La condición de nuestro corazón nos afecta en todos los sentidos porque del corazón salen los asuntos de la vida.
